Scooby’s Bull Fight is part of the 5th episode of the Richie Rich / Scooby-Doo show and originally aired on December 6, 1980.

December 6 happens to be my birthday, and I probably watched this episode way back when, but I have no recollection of it as I was very young.  Still, I’m pretty certain I would have been watching it as I do remember watching this entire series when it first aired on TV.

Anyway, this episode sees the gang in Mexico where they accidentally become bullfighters.

Let’s get on with the review.

The episode begins with the gang fast asleep in Mexico. Awoken by a rooster the gang grab a bite of breakfast before looking for the bullfighting arena.

Scooby and Shaggy Sleeping in front of the Mystery Machine

Scrappy feeds Scooby and Shaggy some hot tamales which certainly wake up Scooby and Shaggy rather quickly.

Shaggy wonders where Scrappy got the hot tamales from and Scrappy points up at the concession stand. Shaggy then figures out they spent the night sleeping on the arena floor.

Hot Tamale Vendor

We then get 5 minutes of bullfighting hijinx which had some amusing parts. Like the bull trying to box, and the bull getting a penalty during an impromptu hockey game.

Scooby and Shaggy as refs

Eventually, the gang disguise themselves as a female bull and the real bull falls in love with them. The jig is up pretty fast so Scrappy rides the bull, and winning the bull fight.

With another adventure over, the gang head off on their next adventure.

My Review

twoI give this episode a 2 out of 10.

I didn’t hate this episode, and it was pretty paint by numbers, but I did chuckle when the gang pretended to be hockey referees and gave the pull a time out for a penalty.

Otherwise, this one was just 7 minutes of stupidity and I’ll probably forget all about it.

Anyway, until next week when I will be covering Scooby Ghosts West. STAY SPOOKY
