Sir Scooby and the Black Knight is the 3rd part of the 6th episode of the first season of the Richie Rich / Scooby Doo Show and originally aired on Dec 13, 1980.

Here we see our trio in Scotland where they anger a Black Knight who they mistakenly believe to be a hotel manager.

Knights and Scooby-Doo go hand in hand, as the very first episode featured a Black Knight. So will I enjoy this episode? Let’s find out!

Sir Scooby and the Black Knight

Scooby on bike

The episode begins with the gang out for a bike ride in Scotland. Here they are planning to stay at a hotel that looks authentically like an old castle.

Sitting down to a welcoming spread of delicious food, the gang anger the Black Knight who they mistaken as the hotel manager.

The Black Knight explains they don’t have rooms, and that this wasn’t their dinner but his. The Black Knight takes chase and the gang end up in the game room which is full of medieval weaponry.

Scrappy then assumes the Black Knight is the hotel’s recreational director, and a new chase is afoot.

The gang hide in a closet and come across Sir Morbid the Grave, a walking and talking skeleton.

Scrappy then uses a catapult to launch himself at the Black Knight creating enough of a diversion so they can escape to the moat. Here the Black Knight’s heavy armour slows him down and also fills his suit up with fish which tickles him. This gives the gang just enough time to hop on their bikes and run away.

My Review

threeI give this episode a 3 out of 10. The best part of this episode is Sir Morbid the Grave, and we only get about 4 seconds of him.

I did appreciate that the gang mistook the Black Knight’s castle as a hotel, and I also like that the Black Knight had a Scottish accent.

Anyway, my next review will be Scooby in Wonderland. So until then, stay Spooky!
