Who’s Scooby Doo originally aired on Oct 23, 1982 and is part of the 5th episode of the Scooby and Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour.
In this episode the gang enter a science fair with their Pizza Maker, but through a device mix-up, Shaggy and Scooby end up having their personalities switched when they demonstrate their machine instead.
Who’s Scooby Doo – Episode Review
The episode begins at the Teen Science Fair where the gang have created a pizza making machine. The machine malfunctions and Scooby and Shaggy are blasted to a presentation of a Personality Switching demonstration.
The device works, and two trouble-making teens – named Squeak and Tank – steal the machine before their personalities can be switched back.
Scooby as Shaggy drives the Mystery Machine, and the gang chase the thieves to a malt shop. The gang sneakily attempt to steal the machine back but steal a cat instead. Shaggy, who is now Scooby chases the after the cat so a new plan is needed.
Our mixed up duo steal the machine but end up switching personalities with the two teen thieves making everything super confusing.
Scrappy attempts to fix everything and personalities ping pong around amongst everyone involved in the chase. Eventually Scrappy gets it right and they return the personality machine back to the proper owner.
My Review
I give this episode a 4 out of 10. Again, not a spooky one, it’s played more for silliness, but it’s a fun one for sure. It was odd seeing Shaggy voiced as Scooby and vice versa, so it was hard to keep things straight, and I think that made it an enjoyable watch for me.
