This episode sees Scooby being cursed with the curse of the werewolf.

Where’s The Werewolf – Episode Review

1313 Gargoyle Street

The episode begins at 1313 Gargoyle Street where the gang are set to house sit on a dark and stormy night. Inside the house, Scrappy scares the gang with a werewolf costume, which makes Scooby pass out out of fear.

Scrappy dressed as a werewolf

Scrappy wakes up Scooby with a random bottle of Grandma’s Wolfgang’s Hair Conditioner, which you’re not supposed to do on a full moon, and unfortunately Scooby is transformed into a werewolf.

Scooby the Werewolf

We get some fun gags as Scooby is transformed to and from a werewolf as the moonlight hits him, and eventually Scooby ends up at a teenage party where Lance and Bulldog (two teenage boys) want to kidnap Scooby the Werewolf to make a fortune.

Lance and Bulldog

In between all of this Scrappy tries to find a cure, but the two boys have other plans as a reporter is on the way and they do not want Scooby to drink the antidote.
More chase scenes occur until the curse on Scooby is lifted.

My Rating

fiveI give this episode a 5 out of 10.

Hey, now we’re talking, a return of some spookiness. Seeing Scooby as a werewolf was fun, although he was a bit mean and nasty. Scrappy as a junior chemist was also fun.  But, this also a bit of rehash of Moonlight Madness where we saw the same sort of scenario with Shaggy being the Werewolf.

Regardless, this one is pretty good, but it doesn’t hold a silver candle up to the classic Scooby-Doo episodes in terms of spookiness.

These episodes are definitely a horse of another color. I’m looking forward to your reviews of The New Scooby and Scrappy Doo Show and The 13 Ghosts of Scooby Doo. When you finish a series, do you compile the reviews and post them under the series name in the reviewed seasons tab?

Thanks Johnathan. Haha, a horse of another color is the perfect phrase. I was compiling the reviews and posting them under the Episode selection in the main menu (in table form where everything is in chronological order). But I haven’t gotten around to doing the latest episode reviews as I’ve been focused on hammering out the reviews rather than the site architecture. I’ll get to cleaning that up in November so the newer reviews are more organized.

There is a reviews section with all the series name which is on every page that has a review, and that is handled automatically by WordPress. That will have the the latest reviews as well, but everything will be in reverse chronological order as it just slaps the latest review for that series at the top.

Regardless, thanks for reading, and I will be working on the New Scooby and Scrappy Doo show episodes in these upcoming months. I’m trying to bang out one a week so it’ll take some time to get through them. The 13 Ghosts reviews will follow those. However, on my YouTube Channel I do have video reviews of that series.

Thanks for the reply. I stumbled upon your site while researching the Shaggy/Daphne pairing, of which, I am now a proud shipper. LOL! In all seriousness, it is interesting to speculate on what might’ve been going through the producers heads in 1984-1985. I’ve heard that they placed small things as hints in TNSASDS, such as showing one hotel room for Shaggy and Daphne while traveling, etc.
