Up Crazy River originally ran on December 11, 1982 and is part of the 12th episode of the Scooby and Scrappy Doo Puppy Hour.
This episode sees Yabba and Scrappy sailing down Dunn river to rescue Dusty from some River Pirates.
Up Crazy River – Episode Review
The episode begins in good old Tumbleweed County where the General Store is being robbed by some river rat pirates. Yabba and Dusty confront the thieves, however, they end up stealing Dusty’s pants, and then kidnap Dusty after Yabba tells the crooks he’s worth more than gold.
The ransom for Dusty is $10,000 so Yabba and Scrappy and hence we get our River Rafting adventure as Scrappy and Yabba try their hardest to rescue Dusty.
Thus, we get a river raft adventure, ending in a cave, until Dusty is finally rescued by Yabba and Scrappy-Doo’s incompetency.
My Score
I give this episode a 2.5 out of 10. This just isn’t really my thing. I did appreciate the quick glimpse of the mummy as Scrappy plays with a TV set. But otherwise, this felt more like an Uncle Scrooge kind of adventure, not a Scooby episode. Highlights, Yabba using Onions as Western Tear Gas and Scrappy in his cute little life jacket.
