Tragic Magic originally aired on October 9, 1982 and is the third Yabba Doo Episode, and it aired as the third episode of the Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour.
In this episode, we’re back to the town of Tumbleweed, where The Great Mysto and his Mystifying Show roll in to rob the bank’s safe.
Tragic Magic – Review
The episode begins at the Tumbleweed Bank, where Scrappy, Dusty, and Yabba are guarding the bank vault that contains a million dollars in gold.
The Great Mysto’s Mystifying Show rolls in with his van and the Magician tells his assistant Grimes his plan on stealing the bank safe.
Mysto uses some magic to make Yabba and Dusty disappear to an amazed crowd. Scrappy ain’t having any of it but with the flick of his hat, Mysto is able to make his escape.
Yabba, Dusty and Scrappy chase after Mysto and Grimes who are hiding out in the woods and Yabba uses his own magic to capture the thieves.
My Review
I give this episode a 2.5 out of 10. It’s okay. But there’s no Scooby in it. Yabba is endearing enough, but Dusty certainly makes me miss Shaggy, which is why this one gets a 2.5 out of 10.
