Super Teen Shaggy originally aired on October 9, 1982 and is the third part of the Scooby-Doo & Scrappy-Doo Puppy Hour
Here we see Shaggy hitting his head, and thinking he’s a superhero. It’s then up to Scooby and Scrappy to keep him from hurting himself.
Super Teen Shaggy – Episode Review
The episode begins with Shaggy walking out of Bell’s costume shop. Shaggy is dressed up as Super Teen for a masquerade party. After being a little excited, Shaggy hits his head on a metallic bell and is now convinced he’s super teen.
Racing to rescue people, it’s up to Scrappy and Scooby to rescue himself. Shaggy learns a motorcycle gang has crashed the costume party, so Shaggy runs to the rescue.
Scrappy and Scooby operate behind the scenes to make it appear that Shaggy has super powers. Unfortunately, a bell-like noise turns Shaggy back to normal, (aka Chicken Teen), and the gang race off on the motorcycle gangs choppers to escape.
We then get a motorcycle chase where Shaggy turns back and forth to Super Teen, and through a series of comedic events, Shaggy looks like he can fly as he’s launched into the air, carrying everyone back to the costume party.
My Review
I give this episode a 4 out of 10. This one was very well written. While not spooky at all, we do get some real life scary moments as Shaggy confronts a dangerous Motorcycle gang.
I think my favourite part was just hearing Casey Kasem’s super hero voice. It was distinctly Casey Kasem, but also very Batmanish, which was amazing.
