Snow Job Too Small originally ran on December 18, 1982 and is the final part of the 13th episode of the Scooby and Scrappy Doo Puppy Hour. Hurray, it only took me 3 years, but I finally finished off reviewing the series that broke me.
This episode sees Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy trying to get Wilbur to his Cousin Sherwood’s Chalet for a will reading. The only problem is an Abominable Snowman is out to make sure he never gets there.
Snow Job Too Small – Episode Review
The episode begins with the gang transporting a bratty kid named Wilbur to his uncle’s chalet for an inheritance reading by way of a snowmobile

Wilbur then begins joking about the Abominable Snowman and as if on cue the Abominable Snowman shows up. The creature sends a huge boulder after the gang, which Shaggy unsuccessfully tries to avoid.

Scrappy deduces someone doesn’t want Wilbur to get the chalet, and also sees that the creature’s footprints are leaving sneaker prints.

The Abominable Snowman snags Wilbur and Scooby, Shaggy, and Scrappy take chase, eventually getting Wilbur back and with ten minutes to spare. And all they have to do is wait 10 minutes for the lawyer to show up so Wilbur can inherit a priceless painting, gold statues, and endless amounts of cash.

Unfortunately, the Abdominal Snowman has other plans and using secret passages and his fearful frame, begins chasing the gang until they trap the beast in a bed.
Removing the mask, it turns out it’s cousin Sherwood.

The lawyer then shows up and declares that Wilbur has inherited a great fortune. The gang then learn they have to drive Wilbur back.
My Score
You know what, I give this one a 6.5 out of 10. This had everything I wanted. We get a spooky looking monster, some humour, clues, and an unmasking. The whole thing moves fast, but perhaps a bit too fast as we don’t get the spooky atmosphere we’d get from a classic Scooby-Doo episode.
Regardless, this episode was a ray of sunshine in an otherwise inconsistent season where we frequently bounced between Yabba-Doo episodes and silly episodes where Scooby went on blind dates. I for one, am happy that at least we ended with a partial return to form for what made Scooby-Doo so great in the past.
