Rickshaw Scooby originally aired on October 3, 1981 and is the second part of the third episode of the second season of The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show.
Rickshaw Scooby – Episode Review
The episode begins in China where the gang are touring the Great Wall of China. They are exploring it outside the wall in a rickshaw, which is one of those human powered carts.
Scooby discovers a secret passage and inside there is lots of neat stuff, including a dragon Statue.
Scrappy reads out the magic words of Moo Goo Gai Pan (which is a chicken and mushroom stir fry), and the dragon comes to life.
We get some chase scenes between the dragon and the gang within the secret temple, and at one point Shaggy dresses up as a flirtatious dragon.
Eventually the gang escape the temple by defeating the dragon with a water hose and the dragon completes the great wall of China for them by powering their rickshaw.
My Thoughts
I give this episode a 2 out of 10. It’s pretty dumb and forgettable. The hidden temple was cool enough I guess, and there were some funny moments. But, if you’ve been watching my reviews, you know I like mysteries and spookiness – and this episode has neither.
