Misfortune Teller – Episode Review
The episode begins with the gang at a Carnival. Shaggy is working as a fortune teller called Swami Salami, and boy is he crooked, as he has Scrappy and Scooby assisting in fooling anyone who enters his fortune teller tent.
Unfortunately RB walks into the tent demanding a great fortune. With his girlfriend wanting him to win every prize at the carnival games, Scooby pops his head into the crystal ball to tell RB that his fortune will come true.
RB leaves, threatening that if he doesn’t win all the prizes, he’ll put Swami Salami into the hospital.
Heading to the strength tester, Shaggy heads off RB and attaches a rocket so RB wins as he takes a swing at the game with a mallet. His girlfriend, unimpressed with the prizes, suggests they head to a better game.
With a promise of winning $100, RB decides to wrestle the Masked Manger. With the Masked Mangler on a lunch break, Scooby fills in, and Shaggy along with Scrappy fills his wrestling costume up with some helium to give him some girth.
RB wins and decides to call it a day, while Scooby shows off his magical hot dog eating powers.
My Review
I give this episode a 3.5 out of 10. It’s not bad, but it’s not really Scooby-Doo, and I have trouble really investing my time into these kooky fun plot lines when what I really want is some spookiness.
The behind the scenes of the Swami trick was fun though, and RB and his girlfriend had enough personality to shine.
But is this Scooby-Doo? Not really to me. This is something I’d expect from Archie comics.
