Low-Down Showdown originally aired on October 30, 1982 and is part of the 6th episode of the 4th season of Scooby-Doo and Scrappy-Doo era.
We are back to Tumbleweed where Yabba, Dusty and Scrappy have to deal with an escaped convent named Big Bad Bucko.
Low-Down Showdown
The episode begins with Dusty receiving an award for being a fearless deputy. During the ceremony, a man rushes in and says that Big Bad Bucko has escaped and is on his way to beat the snot out of Dusty. Upon hearing this, all of the townsfolk get out of dodge (or in this case I should say Tumbleweed).
Determined to showcase Dusty’s bravery, Yabba and Scrappy come up with several plans on making it seem like Dusty has single handedly beat up and captured Big Bad Bucko. These schemes involve Yabba standing behind Dusty and moving his arms and legs, taps like dropping a barrel on the villain from a telephone pole, dressing up in a big overcoat to intimidate the bad man, and wiring Dusty up as a marionette.
Eventually one of the plans works and Big Bad Bucko is caught.
My Review
I give this episode a 2 out of 10. As a cartoon it’s a 5, as Scooby-Doo, and compared to the Scooby-Doo episodes, it’s a 1. I know that doesn’t average out, but there’s so many Scooby-Doo cartoons I’d rather be watching than this, hence the 1. However, if this was on tv, and I was too lazy to find the remote, I’d watch it, and enjoy it, hence the 5. The villains voice was cool (sounds a bit like Doctor Claw), but at the same time, he’s not memorable at all.
Anyway, join me next week when I cover Muscle Trouble
