Picnic Poopers – Episode Review
The episode begins with Scooby, Scrappy and Shaggy on a picnic. Hungry for sandwiches, Shaggy pines about all the food they are going to eat, however he is soon disappointed to hear that Scrappy has enrolled them in 15 picnic events.
We then meet Buster the bully and a bulldog who discuss their plans to cheat while Scooby and Shaggy hoard some food and hide in a sack. Unfortunately, they’ve hidden in Scrappy’s sack for the potato sack race.
Always the eager pup, Scrappy creams the cheating bully, further enraging him.
Next up we have the tug of war, and a few other events where the Buster ends up winning at 7 events and Scooby ends up with 7. With the last event, some sort of obstacle course, Scooby and Shaggy ends up winning, but not without some clumsy stumbling while Bull pushes Buster to the hospital.
My Rating
I give this episode a 3 out of 10. No spookiness here, just a simple Scooby and Shaggy vs a Cheater/Bully affair. It’s not horrible, but it’s certainly not for me when comparing it to the greatness Scooby started out of the gate with.
I did kind of find this one funny, especially the scene where the Bully demonstrates on a straw on what he intends to do to Shaggy and Scooby if they win the events.
