Go East, Young Pardner – Episode Review

The episode begins in New York City where the gang are visiting to learn big city police business.

Dusty, Yabba and Scrappy with the Police Chief

Unfortunately, the chief is a grouch, and orders the gang to stay out of trouble.

While in the police headquarters, Yabba-Doo takes a phone call learning that the Phantom Jewel thief is robbing the Empire State Building.

Rich old lady

Climbing the empire state building, Yabba, Dusty and Scrappy try to make the same way in as the thief. Unfortunately the thief bamboozles them and throws a bowling ball at them, making the perfect getaway.

Tracy's Department Store and Theif

Well, not so perfect getaway, as the gang are hot on his trail. Inside a Tracey’s department store, the criminal tries to hide while being pursued by our heroes on a horse.

Eventually the crook is caught with a giant hat and delivered to the 438th Precinct, and a large bill for a broken copy machine, a horse rental, dental car hoods, some smashed china and a bent flag pole.

My Rating

two point fiveI give this one a 3 out 10. While it was fun seeing Yabba, Scrappy and Dusty in New York, not much really happens in this one either. It is a fairly standard criminal chase episode with a couple of fun gags. The highlight for me was hearing Don Messick do a horse voice.
