Scooby-Doo and Genie-Poo – Episode Review
The episode begins with the gang eating sandwiches on the beach. A funny looking bottle washes ashore and Scooby opens it thinking it is a beverage.
Out pops Jasmine the Genie pops out, as well as her dog, who puts a love spell on Scooby.
Jasmine has only an hour to find a mystical book of spells that contains an ancient chant that will teleport them to Ancient Arabia.
Shaggy argues they have 3 wishes, but Jasmine stops Shaggy before he can make his wish. Meanwhile, Jasmine makes off with Scooby, while Genie-Poo (the dog) makes goo-goo eyes at him.
Shaggy decides to head to the local museum of ancient history, as he feels the book they are looking for might be there. Unfortunately the Mystery Machine breaks down, so they use an inner tube to fly into the sky and intercept Jasmine.
At the Museum, Jasmine finds the book, and their plan is to take Scooby back to ancient Arabia with them.
More fun continues as there are gags involving the gangs three wishes before Jasmine says the magical chant and casts herself back to Ancient Arabia.
My Rating
I give this episode a 5 out of 10. Genie-Poo, I didn’t mind her. She had character, spunk, and pizzazz. And let’s be honest, who among us wouldn’t want to take Scooby-Doo home if given the chance. Jasmine on the other hand, somewhat forgettable. I do like how she was styled and drawn, but I feel Genie-Poo stole the show here.
