Pigskin Scooby originally aired on October 24, 1981 and is the 3rd part of the sixth episode of the second season of The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show.
This episode sees the gang attending a football game between the Hometown Heroes and the Monrovia Monster and somehow the gang end up playing for the Hometown Heroes.
Pigskin Scooby
The episode begins with the gang at a football arena. Shaggy and Scooby are more interested in the hotdog stand than the football game.
The hometown heroes see how scary the Monrovia monsters look, so they run away in fear.
Scrappy volunteers Scooby and Shaggy to play, so they get involved in the game, with Scrappy as a referee.
We get lots of hijinks on the football field and at one point Scooby and Shaggy dress up as cheerleaders. Scrappy also gives up his referee job and starts playing the game.
Eventually the gang end up winning the game, with Scooby and Shaggy ending up in the Hospital.
My Review
I give this episode a 2.5 out of 10.
This episode is okay. I don’t have much to say about it other than I liked the looks of the Monrovia Monsters, and the crowd scenes we had, showed some interesting people in the stands.
Other than that, I will forget this episode within a couple of hours. It was mostly just a series of gags on a football field. If you’re a football fan, you’ll probably appreciate this one more than I do.
