The Incredible Cat Lady Caper originally ran on December 4, 1982 and is part of the 11th episode of the Scooby and Scrappy Doo Puppy Hour.
No story or script credits for this one in the title card, which is unfortunate, as I’d love to know who dreamed up having the gang encounter a cat burglar and her posse of cats, lions and panthers.
The Incredible Cat Lady Caper -Episode Review
The episode begins with the Cat Lady (who is based off of Cat Woman I assume) and her three feline friends (a male lion, panther and collared house cat)

On a rooftop, the use the roof access to rob Hoffman’s Jewelry Store (conveniently located above the Fearless Detective Agency) of its jewels.
Nearby, at the fearless detective agency Shaggy maps out a cat shaped pattern that points the gang right at the crime in process.

Scrappy takes chase and we get a cat vs dog fight before the Cat Lady takes off to her mansion. The gang hitch a ride and show up just in time to interrupt the cat lady’s dinner with her cats. We also learn the cat lady can communicate with the cats through a digital cat collar.

Scooby dresses up as a lion to steal the communicator, however the cat lady realizes he is an imposter and orders Scooby to be finished off.

A chase ensues and in the end Scooby, Shaggy and Scrappy end up capturing the cat lady with the help of a large amount of cat-loving wholesome milk.
My Review
I give this episode a 5 out of 10. I liked the cat lady, her feline friends, and her eastern European accent. The episode also had a fun turn as we got a cats vs dog fight where the cats frequently won.
While not spooky, this one is fun. We also get Scooby saying Puppy Power (for the second time), and ending the episode with a “Scooby-Dooby Roar”, which added some fun to the episode.
But Prof Joel, I hear you say, where the spookiness at (that’s how you kids talk nowadays isn’t it?). Well kids, it has none, BUT, we do get a crazy cool Cat-Copter and that sure as heck makes up for the lack of spookiness.
It would have been better if Daphne appeared in this episode to unmask the cat lady since none of them would and I would have imagined she would look like the girl with 60s hairstyle flip similar to Victoria Sensible and Kitka the Catwoman played by Lee Meriwether but her hair can be white with pink streaks on top of her head the same colors as her cat suit.
That would be fun!
Yep, I’m thinking about drawing my idea of this if I get the chance to, but I’ve been being quite lazy about it and struggling on which of my ideas to draw first.
Oh nice! I look forward to seeing it if you ever get the chance to!
I don’t know where to post my art to this site unless you have Deviant Art account.
