This series of cartoons has Scooby, Shaggy, Scrappy and Daphne joining forces with Vincent Van Ghoul and Flim Flam.

Flim Flam was based on Short Round from Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom, which was a popular movie at the time. To hear this first hand, listen to the wonderful interview with Scooby Writer – Charles M. Howell (episode 22) from a Podcast Named Scooby Doo.

Daphne has a new haircut and clothes which are totally 80’s and tubular. Vincent Price rocks as per always and seems to just be basically playing himself. Anyway, it seems Scooby has released 13 ghosts from an evil chest and only he can return them to it.

I love this version of Scooby-Doo as it is a total breath of fresh air, and I highly recommend picking up the complete series on dvd from Amazon!

13 ghosts, 13 episodes, and a sorta-sequel in 2019 called the Curse of the 13th Ghost and available on Amazon.
